Be Silent Poem by anthony henriques

Be Silent

Be silent
the command stands

and listen
we were told

but then
wave of thoughts

wash away
barriers of sand

insistent voices
leave no spaces

for spirits
to percolate down

interiors scream
in loud agonies

seeking release
from attempted silences

knowing not
how to respond

await instruction
from burning bushes.
