Beach Poem by sophie mew

Beach

Rating: 3.5

In my mind I see a beach
With miles of golden sand
I see a group of children there
All standing hand in hand

The children smile and wave at me
And call me to their side
And in my thoughts I walk to them
Though I'm scared and want to hide

I know that I belong with them
I feel that we're all the same
Cos although the sun has tanned their skin
Beneath lies guilt and blame

They tell me they have waited
Just waited there for me
And now that I am with them
We must walk into the sea

The sea is now much fiercer
The waves engulf my head
And hand in hand were drowning
And joining all the dead

Now it feels so peaceful
at the bottom of the sea
For now the hurts been washed away
My mind has been set free
