Beach In The Winter Poem by Julia Winne

Beach In The Winter

The cold all around me
Surrounds every thought
And makes the emptiness
Feel better.

There is no one
But me.
Time to reflect,
time to play with thoughts,
Or just remember the days
Of playfulness
And freedom.

The cool breeze
Passes along my skin
While the sun beating down
Warms my entire body
I’m happiest here.
No care, no plans, no danger.

If I could,
I would walk along the beach
In winter
Every day.
But, as it is
Life is busy, restricting… expected.
Not at all the way
I think it should be.
