Beached Poem by empty shell

Beached

A deserted beach, sun on my face
My bare soles are hugged by sand
In my ear soft waves ebb
The water is bluer than blue
Quiet, tranquil
Natural bliss
Heaven with no end
PAIN explodes in my skull
I scream, I sit, I stare
My foot is throbbing, bleeding blood
I call....but no one's there
Tranquility is abandoned
The beach a traitor be
Laughing sand, stings and burns
The sun, no friend to me
I walk away in darkness
Blinded by the pain
I hear the surf, I'll follow it
For here, I can't remain
Then giggles lap my feet below
Rocks and infection attack
Tell me, what did I do?
Cool, soothing, water taunts me
Et tu, Old Big and Blue?
I fall to my knees
Look to the sun
Why did I walk so far?

(Should have left my shoes on)
