Bear It Some Thought Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Bear It Some Thought

Rating: 5.0

There’s a waiting list for Heaven
But a scoreboard for hell
And danger’s twenty four seven
So many fools know well

Our Creator knows who’ll make it
He knows us all by name
Best beware who’d try and fake it
Your end is not of shame

Do not live and die a liar
Or end up full of lust
Spend your future seeking higher
See your past, turn to dust

But fools will say there’s no God there
The devil’s just a lie
That hell on earth is everywhere
And Heaven’s when we die

But who of us would gamble now?
Who’s fool enough to wait?
When knees to Christ need only bow
And turn sin’s love to hate

The Father’s love is rich and true
The devil’s fake as he
The option’s left to me and you
For which we’ll settle free

Consider too hell’s many ways
Consider Heaven’s One
And finally, when earth decays
Eternity’s begun

Eternity; if hell is real
If God and Heaven’s true
And if I’ve life’s eternal Seal
What future’s left for you?
