Beautiful Memories Poem by Prabal Dev

Beautiful Memories

Rating: 3.5

In the dawn of the day
Or dusk you may say
Time and again
Like of a poem's refrain
A serpent sneaking secretly
Through fringes of my brain
Intoxicating…
I know thee
Yet I take thy poison
The poison of your remembrance…

With the break of insomniac night
Your tormenting thoughts that kept me alive
In the night of my fight
With me or the divine
Now slay my heart-half mine
‘Cause the rest is thine.

Mashing my eyes, when I try to rise
Strength fades…
Heart pounders…
As if shot by an arrow
Of memories and their sorrow.
They rush unto me
And prevent me to go
To think of anything else
Than their encrypted happiness and decoded woe.

Again on the bed I fall
Like an alive corpse
I struggle for life when death is at my side
And I ask death when hopes preside.
What an insanity abides!
I allow the serpent to creep in
And then show it stick
If it goes by chance
I tempt it by blood red and thick.

Bite me
I'll have the antidote
And allow you to bite more.

Touch…
These memories have in them
Unfulfilled desires, unconditional, yet unreachable
That make them fatal and me to live with pain.

And on my bed, where tears I had shed
I hold thee
With not an intention to set free
My arms clinging tightly unto yours
All the pain it gave, it cures
And breathes this heart heavily
Lying in peace, a melody.

The warmth of your body
The aura of your adorable skin
The shimmer in your eyes and the redness beside.
The entanglement of your shiny locks
Through which my hand creeps and holds
The hella soft pinna of your ear.
Living and killing me at the same time!

Clung with souls together
Cuddling with hands in forever
The sensation is fire
But thy love is ice
Holds me between the truth and the lies.
Then closes my eyes
And numbs my mind
Drives me to sleep
For never to be alive…
