Ain't no mountain high
Ain't no valley low
Ain't no river wide enough baby

But the place you've gone
I can't reach you
Not yet
See, it ain't my time
That doesn't mean I didn't try to get to you
That I don't want to get to you
That I don't need to get to you
Because most of who I am
is shaped from you

I've climbed the highest peak in my mind
Higher than the highest mountain ever could reach on this side of His creation
I've screamed at this peak
Praying that my voice
could somehow get to you
And maybe you could call back out to me
But somehow you're still out of reach
Our connection is no longer connected
There's no way to reach you
I just want to talk to you but I can't
Why?

I've tried reaching down in the deepest valley of my heart
Searching for something, anything
that doesn't make us seem so far apart
I'm wandering through every emotion no longer caring where I should start
My heart cries out because
it can't see the memories we've shared
Instead it feels each one so intensely
It can't help but mourn the fact that you're no longer here
It begs me to call out to you
To have your heart converse with mine just one last time
I tell my heart it's impossible
That it must just remember the echoes of your voice
Since really there is no choice

These eyes have created rivers
that I've swam in to the brink of exhaustion
My limbs are so weak yet so heavy that I'm weighing myself down trying to find a lifeline
Because in this lifetime

You left me alone in these raging rapids
Lost and confuse
Navigating new waters that
I don't think I'll ever get use to
