I tried to sleep last nite
But i heard the hollow sound of a gun shot
I tried to scream
But the ducktape held my mouth shut
I tried to cry
But you told me to be strong
Everytime i tried to wake
I was pushed back down
I wanted to follow you
But you walked away
I asked you why
But still you walked on
The mornings come now
And im shaking from the cold
I cry till my tears wont flow
I hate myself for being too late
Your life shouldn’t have ended
With a final memory
Of you staring down a barrel
When I told you I loved you
I really meant it
When I told you I would never leave
That was my binding promise
But now im waking away
And when your memory asks why
I’ll say its because I love you
