A poem must be
A certain way.
You must restrict your words, your thoughts, your expression
To an exact form
of meter, line, and rhyme.
Why?
Because we say so.
The world is define-able.
It has limits.
It has laws.
Rules that must be obeyed.
And you, too,
Poet boy,
Must do as we say.
Art has rules.
Why?
Because we say so.
And if you don't submit to them,
We won't like you.
And we'll say nasty things about you.
In print.
Nyaah, nyaah, nyaah,
So there!
