Been Here Before Poem by JrGotti wallace

Been Here Before

Been here before, walked through this door
Sat on this couch, picked up heart from this floor
This house is haunted, ghost from the past
Stairway of deception, stepped on my heart
Deep in the freezer, your love was withheld
In the heat of the oven, my feeling did dwell
Baking of the joy, your love did bring
But without gas, to last, the dough couldn’t cling
Bedroom holds memories, to dear to discuss
So in the closet I was locked in, betrayed by your trust
Showers of memories, but a toilet of deceit
Sink full of love, with pipes that now leak
I know now the secrets, the recipe of your cruel intention
That was hidden in your safe, you thought was safe from inception
Your roof has holes, and your walls are hallow
In that lonely house you may be haunted by your own shadow
The lawn that was so lush, perfect and green
Is now covered by loneliness, never to spring
So I remember this house, but one thing is for sure
In my heart I know, love doesn’t live here anymore.

.
You always say you hate to see me hurt, and you hate to see me cry.
So all those times that you hurt me, did you close your eyes?
