Befor You Die Poem by Gautam Sen

Befor You Die

Precision when mixes with cruelty,
crude mentality opens up its claws;
you live till you live a life of uncertainty
but your cowardice forces you
to a slavery of mischievous mind.
You become a devil
in spite of belonging to the same species.

You love to remain a fiend of hate,
refrain yourself from the legion
by leaving brethren for a false cause,
yet you call it “a call of religion”.
You leave your home for a brutal homicide,
you never know whose side you take.
The reason you base upon
for carrying out your mission
with a hallucination of a landmark to achieve,
is sheer baseless – and you delude yourself.
If you’ve thought or you’re taught
that you’re deprived, you’re exploited
then for sure take it from me –
Yes, you’re deprived, you’re exploited,
not by the world, not by the society
but by your own mentors in the name of almighty.

I believe this earth has survived
many ordeals and so also the life on it,
this brutality would find its end
in the face of an invincible force
in course of time.
A righteous fight would let you know
that bullets too sometimes boomerang.

I still hope some escaped old soul
in spite of engaging some part of his life
in such act, would find some time of his own.
Please spend some time to eye my lines –
it would work like magic potion
to bring you some emotions back,
some stolen peace that a man needs
before he dies.
