Before Poem by Jenna Reschenthaler

Before

Before bombs fell onto the jungles.
All was calm.
Before screams of the dying filled the air.
All was calm.
Before napalm burned the flesh.
All was calm.
Before fire consumed the villages.
All was calm.
Before Southeast Asia was thrust into war.
All was calm.
