How many days until I see you again...
You were everywhere beside me on the flow
in the woods and paths between grass
through distant reeds, the lake
with a sunstripe across it
tinting leaves and bark of still trees
a branching elbow out of ivy
above flowers drowning sungold
charcoal firs promise nightfall
lemon moon caught in branches
wrist of a V-branch leans but not aimlessly
bird on the weather vane
flitting south east north west
a cross-roads to sleep, naming you
yardlights, mercury irises of eyes
every noise could be your knock
when will your feet be heard on the gravel
and you framed in the wingéd-glass
window of the door before I open
