Before, Lord, Before Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Before, Lord, Before

The world revolves in disarray
Most of us live in shame
With Jesus coming any day
Few believe in His name

Ignorant why He chose to die
After three days to rise
Informing you, my friend and I
Of devils and their lies

Jesus' suffering, His torment
Most people would appal
Yet wrote in blood His testament
Explains to one and all

He! Creator of everything
As Christ! came down to save
Salvation, sinful souls to bring
Before we meet the grave

Praise God, I found The Truth in time
Grateful, I heard Life's call
Thankful, Christ bore my guilt and crime
Sparing in hell to fall

Oh! that the world would realise
The truth of Christ's intent
Far more would see with open eyes
From sin would true repent

My God, my God, what can we do?
What can Your people say
That more and more lost souls find You
Before the judgement day

Can Your church receive more power?
More wisdom, knowledge too
Lord, before their final hour
Let more, far more, find You.....
