Before You Wake Poem by Justin Healy

Before You Wake

Rating: 5.0

I find myself dreaming of tomorrow
Lost in the darkness so hollow
All I ever find is this sorrow
One ray of sunshine I can't borrow
My own soul lost and swallowed
This world's become dark and shallow
No trace of honor or valor
Now we're placed in different situations
But these ones get my blood racing
Only one sip of bliss I'm taking
My own wills slowly breaking
The blood's grown old it's caking
My rage makes this world begin shaking
The end of it all
A child's brains splattered on the hall
A mother's heart stopped and stalled
They all will have the white lights call
Not me with my black heart so small
I am waiting for the day when I fall
I am counting the seconds minutes and hours
The mothers milk starts to sour
When people see the real me they cower
So when the veil finally breaks
I never figured out what was at stake
Just another day
Just another way
Just another say
I'm sick of these things that are a given
I'm sick of the life we living
But it's not a given that you are living
I move through everyday on xanax or pinning
Who's on my side god or the devil grinning
I am the the blasephmy
I am the monstrosity
I am the darkness inside you
I am the hallow shell that surrounds you
I am the hatred that feeds you
I am the vanity that shrouds you
I am the lust that drives you
I am the fear
I am the night so ever clear
I am the last breath you ever take
I am the final sight before you wake
