Beggar Poem by Tuwa Noor

Beggar

A beggar from a land far away heard a rumor
about a very rich man whose name was Karun,
He has long cherished desire to meet him and get at least a golden coin
as a souvenir from his hand.

After a long walk he came at the heart of the city.

Huge long line of camels were marching there in a fleet in front oh him,
Full with gold and silvers in sacs on the backs of hundreds camels

Those all were Karun's wealth.
A rehearsal were going on there to show the pomp
to the people— how rich Karun is!

That was the Pharaoh's regime.
Musa was speaking at a gathering not that far away.
Karun's camel fleet is blowing dust in all directions.
On of a camel's back were filled with the keys of his treasures.
Karun was walking holding the bridle, and the beggar was following him
in a little distance,
He came closer and said, I came here from far away
You are the richest man in the world!
I am a simple traveler—
Will you donate me a gold coin?

Where did you see that much wealth?
That I can give you one!
After Saying this, Karun turned his face away.

The beggar who were traveling from a far distance place
was stared at him without any blink
and he stood still bemused for a few moments.

The earth was shaken with a great force all a sudden.
The beggar regained his senses and looked around with curiosity.
The soil is like quicksand,
All the camels of Karun are sinking with wealth on their backs
in a tremendous attraction of gravitational force towards the core of the earth.
Karun is also following the collapse fastened the rein of the camel.

Karun raised his hand towards the beggar and begged, save me please!
Beggar prolonged his hand toward him without hesitation.

'The beggar's hand' is the only wealth of a beggar, he said.,
Hold my hand tight! the hand I used to beg my whole life.
