Behind The Crucifix Poem by Leslie Philibert

Behind The Crucifix

If you know you have lost
then look over the silent stones.
Three trees against the dusk
and thorns that curl in the rain.
A sky that stands at a distance
and nods in the bitter night, Angst
from falling as you shuffle backwards,
then the fear to turn around.
