Behind The Curtain Lies My Lifeless Body. Poem by Noriel Urriza

Behind The Curtain Lies My Lifeless Body.

Burying me against your own hatred; I drown in such emotion.

You hide the empathy as I scrawled my book; I write our tension.

To say I wasn't already dead, was a lie.

My eyes were blinded, they rot.
My thoughts ran wild, I hadn't noticed my own distraught.

I thought you had loved me dearly, I'm 6 feet under.

I thought you were true, I thought you'd even plunder.

You did so to my heart, although not healthy.

Every night you come to face, I think and worry.

Bury me in your own lies, bury me in with your own ties.

Bury me with your full will, bury me as you fly the curtain a close.
I was blinded, and yet I crawl with hands and legs bloodied.

My cartilage open, my heart sitting before you.

Please dear, close it back up.
So I won't know that my suspicions are true.

Note:
(I've taken recent interest to poetry<3 I've just started, and I am 15. This poem talks about how oblivious people are nowadays to toxic relationships. Despite their lover's noticeable toxicity, they stay and continue to love them. Knowing they'll lose energy, becoming lifeless in the process. The lover draws the curtain so that nobody would ever notice what's happening.)
