Being Human Poem by Noah Body

Being Human

Rating: 5.0

round and round the calendar goes
why fight on? Nobody knows
when no possible victory's in sight
why should we continue to fight?
why keep banging head on the wall
why struggle to prevent the fall
why march onward against the tide
why not just turn and run and hide
because as humans it's in our nature
to fight on til we reach the rapture
to struggle to climb the highest hills
to swallow again the most bitter pills
as humans we know not how to quit
we just keep gnawing away at the bit
in adversity we reach our potential
when being human is most essential

There are many who fall and keep getting back up. As you do. Many who fall and sink. Then those blessed who never will fall and have no understanding of truly being human.

Yes indeed. Those lucky few. Or are they lucky? Perhaps it's better to have to struggle, to build your strength, than it is to coast through life untested. Thank you for reading and for your comment.
