Believe Poem by Connie Ducksworth

Believe

Many times we find ourselves lost in the valley of dry bones,
Not sure of how we got there, but knowing it's not our home.
For it is full of darkness, stealing what is left of hope away,
And we know deep in our hearts, it's not where we want to stay!
But tell me, who can we turn to, to help show us the way?
To come up out of this misery, that we're feeling day to day,
Can someone please help and tell us, if there's really a way out?
From a life that's filled with misery, hurt, pain and doubt.
Well my brothers, I'm here to tell you, so open up your ear,
Cause in the Holy Scriptures, God tells us, son, don't fear.
For there's nothing that He can't do so trust Him with your soul,
He will show you a life of beauty that you've never known!
He'll give you beauty for your ashes and wipe away your tears,
And fill your heart with laughter, to let you know, He's near.
And when you're weak and tired and feel you can't go on,
He'll pick you up and carry you, for in our weakness, He is strong!
He has a plan set for our lives, that does not include sorrow,
He's carefully set the course for us, to help us reach tomorrows!
Preparing us to soar up high, as an eagle who spreads his wings,
So when opportunity comes knocking, we will achieve all things!
