Beneath this turbulent corner
Where we both find ourselves
Our mutual mortal assignments;
Where it may appear
That we are striving against each other
Merely because of these rituals of necessity –
Were you really ever deceived about this?
Deep down the depths of our heart and soul
Where we both agree in everything
And validate
All these we do and feel:
My brutality your writhes your muffled moans
My wanton smiles your doubts your silences –
Down
Where we interlock and build our heavens
Knocking meaning into our dizzy humanity–
Where all but our conjugation has our mutual consent
There lies the reason why
We can never really disagree
Or shift our grounds
That only you could hear and see!
