Bernardo Poem by Craig Steiger

Bernardo

Caretaking the blind man Bernardo
Who wanders into the kitchen
Bumping into things
A grizzled forgotten veteran
Of the old wars
Whose battlefields lie dark & empty
A black rain filling the divots
Of dead horses
