Best-Friend's Gone Now Poem by Steven Elsner

Best-Friend's Gone Now

You were closer than a best friend,
Thought you'd be there 'till the end,
Instead you left me behind,
I used to think we shared the same mind.

You abandoned me to get high,
Puffin' on a blunt or joint,
It seems my brother no longer sits behind that eye.
I don't even see the point.

It's hard to watch you go down this road,
Just tell me you can quit,
Don't take another hit.
I just don't want to be soloed

I won't let you end up like this,
Where's the best-friend that I miss?
You are addicted,
And I am afflicted.

I really wish you'd read this poem,
And maybe come back home.
