Betrayed Poem by Natasha Sharma

Betrayed

If I close my eyes, the night won’t be gone;
Deep in the woods, there will be no dawn;
I have journeyed far to lose you to the world,
With memories that often break into a song.

Now there is no need to hide,
How broken I am deep inside;
But when the darkness recedes, I shall rise,
To move on paths that were never tried;

O sweet love, don’t you cry,
To you I’ll never say goodbye;
My heart is where you’ll always belong,
For at least my love wasn’t a lie.

What is amazing is your near British perfection in the use of diction and strict adherence to the syntactic requisites. When I read your poems, I am lost in your fine tempo of rendering and often miss to see your emotional crisis that might have made you write. All the best Natasha.
