Between The Shadows Poem by J. Edward Armstrong

Between The Shadows

Rating: 5.0

The torrid winds tell secrets
And in an empty place
And in a place that’s lost
Lonely time and only time
And without rays of the sun.

And dreams fall short
By more dejection, an empty stare
With senses void
Will be damned
And all damned be stilled.

Only time and lonely time
Requited though not anguished
Disgustedly transparent, grades incessant
And the sun devoid of self
And loathing interposed the silent.

As a cry lands between
And loss is lost
But not for the iniquitous
Conceptual manipulation abounds
Euphemistic validation prevails.

Subtle denial; apathetic compartmentalization
Repressed horizons in the fade
Depressed emotions in the shade
And the sun is set at rise
And tears without eyes.
