Thrive Poem by J. Edward Armstrong

Thrive

But to vanish over the horizon into the true unknown.
Trials and tribulations almost beyond imagination.
Loneliness near the limit of human endurance, feelings of utter despair;
a constant struggle with the insidious destroyer, self doubt.
Yet to know oneself, is there a better test of a man's soul?
Until you've stared into the abyss you are but a tourist.
Apathetic and fastidious projections create solicitude;
an omni-present complacency.
Devouring the sprit, malevolence is always near;
do not succumb but realize and overcome.
Embrace the difficult; thrive through vivification.
