~between Want And Need~ Poem by Soulful One

standing betwixt and between
the narrow path
dividing heart from Soul
i view the plane before me
where the conflict between
need and desire
perpetually wages
the advantage constantly
changing and exchanging
between the weakness of my want
and the strength of my need
my ego crying out like
a petulant child
wanting wanting wanting
what it can't have
ignoring ignoring ignoring
that which it already possesses
and my Higher Self
who finds strength in
my vulnerability
my authenticity
willing to not just accept
but dwell in the space of my need
to be connected
in fellowship
in relationship
to the Souls beyond
the battlefield
seeking peace beyond passion
and rest for the weary
seeking balance between
the warring factions
of my needs and wants
acceptance and coexistence
in that quiet place
where my Higher Self
longs to dwell
the quiet place
of peace
where i do not have to choose
one over the other
where love abides
and reigns
forever more
