Beulah Poem by Lors Dilouley

Beulah

You have shone Your majesty across the earth.
Your faithfulness surrounds the sky
the winds of Your love ripple through tree branches
the blush of Your sun soars across the heavens
casting its rays reflectively on the waving sea.

i am on the rock.
fixed so far beyond my gaze it is cemented
to some stronghold fathoms beneath me.
and the waves can crash, the current can sweep
the lake may pound its hardest against these boulders -
yet unmovable, unshakeable - they remain.

Father, my trust lies fixed beyond my gaze.
for, i know You - You only - hold the future.
You only lift the moon to its place at night
and cause the sun to roll into the sky, ushering the day to its place.

this is how i am convinced of Your gentleness.
You see my fragile heart - and his fragile mind, his fragile body
You hold our eyes - fixed on You, Your cross, Your sacrifice,
Your sun - Your glorious Son!

yet may i plead to keep him here
for Your glory - for Your honor -
so heathens will say 'glory to God! '
so liars and thieves will shout Your praise!

even so, i will sit upon The Rock
even if You plan to move it - to shake it.
to carry it out to sea, to tip it, to drown me -
yet i will remain -
unshakeable in You.

Wow! Pretty powerful. I love how you wrote 'lift the moon'. Excellent. Dc
