When I was a child
I was full of doubt,
Didn't have a clue
What the world was about,
Now that I'm older
I'm a little more wise,
I've upped my game
And opened my eyes,
Now I can see
What lies ahead,
I've focused my mind
And my wings I've spread,
I've broadened my horizons
And taken chances,
To better my life
And my circumstances,
Along the way
There's one or two things I've learned,
Opportunities rarely land on your lap,
They have to be earned!
So when life deals you a bad hand,
Don't take it personally,
Try to understand,
It may not be what you had planned,
often There's a bigger picture,
In time you'll see your life grow richer.
