As a child I dreamt that I was flying,
Invincible, unstoppable and death defying,
Free as a bird and soaring high,
I watched the world just pass me by,
As I grow old,
I'm far less bold,
In fact I'm exhausted if truth be told,
My body aches and my mind is gone,
The light has faded where it once shone,
But boldly I still soldier on.
As an adult I dream that I am falling,
And I hear my inevitable destiny calling,
For when my world has all gone dark,
I can safely say I left my mark.
