Birds Of A Different Feather Poem by William Cavanagh

Birds Of A Different Feather

I walked on William's Trail today
With many birds of many kind
I heard the words they had to say
The sense of which I could not find
I saw the beauty of their form
Their color shape and splendid flight
The spacious might of nature's dorm
A captive concert ‘twrd the night
And, I had heard to my surprise
The priceless pitch they all did utter
A different look within those eyes
Some loud, some, with but a mutter
They had been speaking all together
Those many birds of distant feather
