Birth Poem by Nina Hall

Birth

The dull sun bore a whole in me
Starting like a mirrors fleeting flash
All bright and stark clean
The whisper of a hint in a dream

But gone, in times dancing cloak
Reveled down the street with nonchalant shadow
So absent and diminished its timely splash
Soaks my soul at rest in jest and raw connection lash

A dagger of protection and lucid warning
This way that turning on a tutorial storming
Hatefull message and laughing elated
When bombs and wolves lay habits abated

Reach and stretch in that glorious light
Stop start run and fight after exhausting fight
Why my love is this feeling cruelly woven
Why my love does pattern sewn feel chosen

Will in the end show us boxed and bonded
With fixed expression features diamond grinder
In the middle throws we burn and cry
Vital time that giggles irrelevant to why we try

That a realm so beautiful in delicate carnage
Was ever created for mankind to harness
The sticky glue of it choked me today
Stuck webs within weaves led my deep breaths astray

Pause for a balance with blood knuckles white
Squinting to see the dull suns old light
Swallow in fake control and nod to the splendor
Brace for the next wave where loves hammers render

Birth, rebirth
