Bitter Poem by Rik Bertrand

Bitter

Tethering on the brink,
Indecisions gathering momentum
The weight of life bears down
Bitterness fills my heart.

The pressure crashes down,
Crushing all that gather.
Curious on watchers die in ah,
A price that some must pay.

Emotions that are not tied,
Words that are said, but not meant
Tears that fall in darkness,
No one see the sadness of it all.

A hug that has no depth or warmth
The kiss that is cold and blistered
The weight of life bears down
Bitterness fills my heart.

Pain lies there on the floor,
Its owner has abandoned life.
Free now from all that was wrong
Life's tree has fallen dead to the world.

Oh, so bitter it all is, oh, so bitter
The smile has wilted and turned.
Oh, so bitter it all is, oh, so bitter
My heart will be no more.
