Bitter Truth Poem by David Oladipupo Olorunshola

Bitter Truth

How can truth be bitter?
When it is told
It should be accepted
And treasured as gold
But when you are
On the other side of the truth,
It could become bitter
If you hate the truth
One thing about truth is
You can bank it,
And go to sleep
It becomes bitter
When you refuse it
It will make or mar you
Period, though you have
A choice in the matter
But, when you posses it
You walk tall
And fear no foe,
But when you don’t have it
You become a coward
And apologetic.
