Black Poem by David Olughu

Black

Black is beautiful,
just like the stars.
Black is not a fool,
don't leave us with scars.
Black is strong like a bull,
we are not a farce.
Black is able to rule,
we're not meant to be behind bars.

Black has talent,
no one can stop our shine.
Black is not for rent,
what is mine is mine.
Black can't be bent,
we're strong like red wine.
Black will never be silent,
our words none can confine.

Black dreams;
visions of our future.
Black screams;
agony of our past adventure.
Black teams;
strength beyond measure.
Black gleams;
never fading, ever sure.

Black doesn't lack,
there is abundance.
Black mind is not dark,
You can take a glance.
Black move as a pack,
we take our stance.
Black is black,
it's not a thing of chance.

Black is creative;
blowing every mind.
Black is innovative;
a solution we'll always find.
Black will always give,
sometimes we're even too kind.
Black knows what to believe,
we can see; we're not blind

Black is not just a colour;
don't underrate.
Black is more,
never underestimate.
Black is not poor,
stop the hate.
Black can be an entrepreneur;
we can still become great.

Black is not savage,
we have a soul.
Black should not be in a cage,
we have our own goal.
Black is not filled with rage,
we have control.
Black is upstage,
we have a role.

Black doesn't judge,
we love peace.
Black never keeps a grudge,
we hate malice.
Black will never divulge,
your secret is in one piece.
Black is not a drudge,
we are a centerpiece.

Black can learn,
teach us the new song.
Black can discern,
we know what is right and wrong.
Black can earn,
it won't take long.
Black shows concern,
we want to be carried along.

Black is magical;
suspense unending.
black is radical;
diversity undiminishing.
Black is rational;
always reasoning.
Black is not fictional;
we are the real thing.

Black is a mystery;
true nature unknown.
Black has a history;
waiting to be shown.
Black is an industry,
waiting to be grown.
Black has victory,
the trumpets shall soon be blown.

Black exists;
we're not a myth.
Black persists;
like a goldsmith;
Black insists;
we're not filth.
Blacklists;
mysteries underneath.

Black has a voice,
pay attention.
Black has a choice,
Our decision.
Black loves to rejoice,
It's an addiction.
Black girls and boys,
an entire generation.

Proud to be BLACK.
