Black Child Poem by Kenneth R Jenkins

Black Child

Save the babies
Save them all!
Save them before thy fall,
Keep them in the straight and narrow,
Keep them from the pain and sorrow
One by one they are our Black Child.

Hatred rages high,
So many has died,
And the plight goes on and on,
Like the same old song- -
And one by one they are our Black Child.

Black girl with your hair so long,
Black girl that's so strong,
Black girl keep your head up high
Because sooner or later you will see
The brighter side of life indeed
And one by one they are our Black Child.

Where are the villages that teaches our babies?
Where are the people who empowers them?
Where that pride of self?
