Blessedly Cursed - Poem by Stuart Doggett

To know,
To love,
The hidden inner flame.
To burn,
To brood,
The secret inner pain.

Remembering the dream,
Endlessly relived,
A hopeless infatuation,
Yearn to be released.
Words come tumbling out,
Mouth unbidden speaks,
Bridges build up slowly,
Life rushes by beneath.

To know,
To love,
The hidden inner flame.
To burn,
To brood,
The secret inner pain.

The day I was blessedly cursed.

Hours run like minutes,
Time is quickly spent,
Heaven is ejected,
Reality inserted instead.
I swear into the darkness,
I cry myself to sleep,
I pray for second chances,
I see the dream and weep.

To know,
To love,
The hidden inner flame.
To burn,
To brood,
The secret inner pain.

The day I was blessedly cursed.
