I wasn't there to hear your borning cry
a light that day foreshadowed by the night
begrudging surrendered that most desire downfall
though fearful of regrets hoped time would heal all
details of a face imprinted with mixed tears
my reflection beheld still looked for these years
thoughtfully daily you visit my mind
even slumber of sleep cant erase memories of that time
then time stood still holding you tenderly that day
too soon letting go I surveyed final actions in play
hoping you were safer in his habits soft cradle
trying to stow a life fuller, more stable
you were a delight to someone in need
their hopes and dreams fulfilled from my seeds
circumstance unsure, tuitions, and ambitious aside
your best chance at happiness let us decide
I missed having see the milestones you met
like birthdays with presents little boys like to get
ty trucks, superheroes, making memories of that time
just watching you grow their greatest treasure of mine
bedtime stories would have been my biggest treat
you history I recorded accounting all that was known
later if asking questions your answers could be shown
now those memories almost have my response
incomplete until you desire to find me
god now fan those flams, shouldering someone moderately
please done be afraid, there's so much you can learn
you know who you are is all I prayerfully yearn
