Blind Poem by Anonymous Beauty

Blind

Rating: 4.0

Blinded by lust I got lost.
So I trusted him and said everything was my fault.
Filled with doubt I walked about like everything was all good.
His love being the only food I needed.
He filled me all the way to the full meter.
Like fuel my dedication to him had no measure.
Like a letter he read me from dear to sincerely.
I clearly couldn't see he was lying. He was using me.
Fail for his act because instead of warnings he text me every morning. He called me every night.
I said to myself "This love must be right…",
but like so many others this love was way out of sight.
Out of my league.
So…
Why bother fight?
Why lie?
Why hide?
When everything done in the dark comes to the light.
Lite sparks between us bright enough to blind me.
Conceives false love and deceives my mind.
Behold- us.
What are we?
Is there really a you and me?
Or maybe even a future?
Could it be? No it wouldn't,
but still those dreams haunt my sleep.
And my heart beats in my head because I think of love constantly.
I define love and the meaning isn't us.
So I rewind back to the beginning and pause at the day I met you.
Hand played over repeat.
Than slowly sliding towards delete.
I lick my lips.
I taste the memory.
It was so sweet.
Sweat rolls down my cheek.
I'm nervous.
You hate when I'm nervous you said, 'It makes you look weak.'
Strongly cared what you think and to prove I'm not timid or weak.
I speak up and boldly press delete.
