Blind Love (Dedicated To A Blind Couple) Poem by Cherime Sangma

Blind Love (Dedicated To A Blind Couple)

You are my darkness,
You're all that's familiar—
Like rustling of leaves,
And warm kisses of the sun;
Like little sips of coffee,
And fresh breaths of Spring;
I recognize your feeling—
You're all that I know,
And your every step I'll follow;
Your laughter, like rainfall,
Makes my world complete;
Spared from vanities of sight,
I see you with my touch;
Every perfect edge,
Etched to my memory;
Your voice my home,
Keeps me from drifting;
And, in a strange seeing world,
Our blind love's all we have
To steer our hearts true.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Came across a blind couple and I was inspired by their love for each other without seeing each other. it made me think of the virtue of the other senses we generally overlook.
