Blood Poem by Sarah Kozlowski

Blood

Rising over my head
A red wave of endless torment
This life-force of the dead
Blood
Seeping through my skin
Soaking into my bones
What's left of all the kin
Gluing shut my eyes
Washing on my lips
Ocean of red surrounds me
I start to rock and tip
Body smothered by it
Matted in my hair
My face is covered in it
This blood is everywhere
Blood
Squeezing through my fingers
Racing down my throat
The taste that always lingers
Blood
My soul is torn to shreds
Consumed forevermore
Bu the life-force of the dead
