Bloody Road Poem by Martins Akhoeneto

Bloody Road

Can you tell me how many souls
Whose blood ran cold
Years in, years out here,
On this road of blood?
Can you tell me the numbers
That will return on this course,
A track of death in disguise
How can we mark these black days
Why can't they be seen
To avert this tragic moments
That clots fast following dyes
On veins of our loved ones
At the news of painful crash
Of their now mutilated blood,
Beyond recognition of anatomist
Or the men behind cameras
Who had earlier garnished the news.
News of dark gory scenes
