He said he wanted me
in the hush of strangeness—
it lingered in the quiet,
unseen but undeniable.
With mere words, he bewitched me,
made me a stranger
in my own bones.
Butterflies trembled in silence,
unspoken confessions
etched in candlelit air.
We walked separate roads,
still asking the stars,
"Is this the way? "
Though I knew—I never knew.
I brought nothing but hope
and starry eyes from a distance,
believing in something
too good to be true—
or maybe just too false to be trusted.
Your "yes" wore
a "maybe" dressed in "no."
How could I have been so blind?
The universe whispered warnings
I never learned to read.
It worsened when my playlist
of love songs turned
into anthems of numbness.
The smile faded.
Only the ache remained.
Was it ever casual
to look at me that way—
with eyes that spoke
what your lips dared not say?
You lied to your soul.
Your pure intentions drowned
beneath your pride.
"I wish it still echoed in the silence, "
I whispered—
but the quiet stayed quiet.
I crawled my way home,
searching for a road
that didn't burn,
after you promised me paradise
and led me through fire.
If I was never meant to be yours,
why not leave me untitled—
just another curiosity
pinned to your wall?
You summoned storms in me
I never knew existed,
then tossed me away
like weathered paper.
Still, I said,
"Thank you for having me, "
and sent your name to God,
told Him the hurt,
and left karma at His door.
