Blooming Marigolds (Haibun) Poem by Reason A. Poteet

Blooming Marigolds (Haibun)

haibun

My family raised strawberries when I was young. Dad used to plant marigolds in the field because the smell of their blooms kept the white flies away. Is it just my imagination or do strawberries always have a tinge of marigold taste to them?

blooming marigolds
repel the white flies
stinky strawberries
