Blue Poem by Denn Meneses

Blue

I am swimming in an ocean of blue
Swimming, drowning, yet drifting through.
I am whirling in a maze unseen
Whirling, spinning, floating in vain.

I must go down again to where blue sky meets tranquil sea
Where the promise of misty mornings makes a child out of me.
I must go back to where dryads roam and fairies swoon
Who knows what mystic charms and secret dreams unfold the moon.

The warm breath of summer whispers a bittersweet refrain
Calling me to the mountains where stardust memories had lain.
Bougainvilleas dancing in dayspring a feast for weary sight
Welcoming in meek surrender the prodigal sprite.

I am dreaming of a vision in blue
Hazy, shadowy, intangible hue.
Wish I may, wish I might
It disappears swiftly into the night.
