Blue Instrumental Poem by Judith Vriesema

Blue Instrumental

A love,
fragile,
broken,
until my heart bleeds
into
the wonder of your eyes;
blue heaven echoing my life as i breathe
your voice into my soul.
Spirits awaken instrumentals
within
your footsteps as they cross a blue snow.
In Iceland,
you stare upon the feathers of geese
and
ice dancing with rainbows.
Closing my eyes,
in dreams that echo the past,
I feel the hesitiation
in your beliefs;
sagas fighting with modern life,
your life;
sagas riding horses of passion
and
a love that still knows how to bleed.
Your dreams collide
with mine
in a midnight sky;
a love once again
walking along tourist worn paths.
Time looks up for a brief moment
and holds universal molecules motionless witin an instrumental.
And
the movie goes on,
continuing into what should have been,
what would have been,
into that place all poets call forever,
and all lovers call breathing,
that place where my heart finds your tears
within
that space where time stands motionless.
And
in that moment,
i know I can breathe again.
