Blueprint Poem by Marie Brown

Blueprint

My attempt at an escape route, trying to hide from reality.
The words that escape, but land nowhere near where they should.

I want to lay out every aspect of my life, flat like a piece of paper.
Crossing out what doesn't matter and adding in the answers to what does.

I want to show you my piece of paper,
But I’m certain you'd roll it up and throw it out.
