Blurred Eyes Comments

Everyone who reads this poem will realize it expresses your personal sense of loss. You write at some remove from the character speaking but the immediacy of self expression cannot be wholly covered up. In a way, this poem parallels the first one I read tonight in which you wrote in an impersonal voice to embrace all of the mourners among us. This poem displays the personal voice in all of its splendor and fellow-feeling. It is a measure of your poetic status that you can convincingly speak in both voices - and in the same day of composition.
