Bones Of Corruption Poem by Desmond Okon

Bones Of Corruption

Gather these bones and
Weigh them
Cast your minds back
To the time you enthroned
Them

Are their colours still
Shiny as they were?
Or are they blurred and
Tainted with stealth of
Corruption?

Gather these bones and
Scan them
Their flagrant hoax has
Has blackened the tongue
Of justice

Are you not ennuied
By such bright beguile?
Or are their marrow so
Sweet that you want
To deny?

Gather these bones and
Bind them
The hopes injected in
Them have been cremated

Is this sun of torture
Not grave enough?
Or is it until we're bagged
And thrown off this turf?

Gather these bones and
Chain them
Nail their joints to
The altar of sacrifice

'Tis time for their
Obsequies.
Let free your dogs, for
They need feeding.
