Books Poem by Hailey Webber

Books

Their words wrap around me,
Like a ribbon on a Christmas gift,
They enter my very soul,
As I read each word,
Each sentence,
Each line,
Each paragraph,
Each page,
The world around me transforms,
Into something never seen before,
Each page and chapter holding something new,
It can send me too far away lands,
To a place I've never been,
Or it can keep me close to home,
Maybe taking me to a small town,
Or a big city in another state,
To the future,
Or to the past,
Or maybe far across the sea,
They take me on adventures,
Surrounding me with fantasy,
Learning about true love,
Learning about hurt and pain,
They can make me giggle and laugh,
And sometimes make me cry,
The sights,
The sounds,
And even the many moods,
I feel like I am actually there,
So many books,
So little time,
How will I ever read the all
